#100 (!!)….Kelly Baxter

So, before you go take a look at Kelly’s blog, know this: she first picked up a camera not even a year and a half ago. She studied books, practiced tons- and had her first session in August ‘07. She is obviously a quick study, and has a lot of natural talent, because for a budding photographer, her work is quite good. I get a lot of emails from those just starting out in photography asking me to take a look at their sites/blogs and critique or mentor them, both from my blogsofphotogs affiliation and just from my regular photography site. When I have time, I check them out and offer some suggestions, but usually newbies have some pretty rough stuff. Not so with Kelly- she has some amazing images on the first few pages of her blog. I really liked her work with kids best, often kids over the age of 2-3 are tough to get genuine looks, versus the cheezy smile, Kelly does well with this. It was a joy to find a newer photographer who is really producing some great work, can’t wait to see what the future brings for you Kelly.
