• Welcome to Blogs of Photogs! Blogs of Photogs is owned by Mary Hanson, of Mary Hanson Photography. I welcome readers and other photographers to submit their blog, or blogs they admire, to be reviewed. There is a long list, and it takes a tremendous amount of time to visit, read, and review so many great (or not-so-great) photography blogs. If you have emailed rest assured you are in the list. Some keys to getting reviewed are: updating your blog often, having beautiful photography, writing more than just a two word description about your photos, having the "bugs" worked out of your blog (links that are broken or images that don't load are too frustrating to send hundreds of readers to visit...) and a sense of humor helps too. :) Thanks for enjoying my project!

Also, I encourage you to visit and support our sponsors of the blog, as they help pay for the costs and upkeep of the site, and are great vendors! Email if you are interested in becoming a sponsor. Opportunities are limited within similar categories.

#113…Tara Staton

I really hate to start out a review with a negative, but I have to warn you before you visit Tara’s blog… she has one of those “playlist” things hidden at the bottom of her blog as a widget. Now; I’m a huge lover of music, in fact, I listen all the time~which is why when I come across a blog with music, without a clear easy way to turn it off, mute it, or pause it…I usually close that window and get the heck out of Dodge. (Tara’s blog music can be paused way down at the bottom, which took me a while to find, and after switching pages the pause button disappeared until I refreshed~ but I stayed to see the gorgeous lush work anyway, thank goodness!) Let me just say that visiting Tara’s blog while listening to my music (Lupe Fiasco’s Superstar) mixed with her blog music (Michelle Featherstone’s Sweet Sweet Baby) did not make a pleasant mix in the least! So-to Tara & others with similar music players: please reconsider an easier pause button? Just for little ‘ol me? :)

Ok: now onto the photos! Tara’s work is really magnificent! Her family sessions are some of the best family work that I have seen in a long time. I’ll definitely be bookmarking her blog for inspiration. Tara works along the North Oregon Coast, and though I don’t know what their cost of living is like there, her rates seem extremely underpriced for the caliber of her work, which is splendid. There is much to enjoy & admire on her blog and site, so go take a peek and enjoy!
