#159…Audrey Woulard

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Audrey Woulard, has been working out of Chicago as a portrait photographer for about 7 years, near as I can remember. Audrey and I were friends online on a parenting board for many years before either of us ever pursued photography as a career, so I got to see her go from starting out to skyrocketing to fame in a fairly short period. Audrey’s work has a very distinctive style, a commercial feel that caught the eye of national campaigns such as Pottery Barn Kids a few years back. Audrey is an extremely successful business woman as well, offering many variations of workshops over the years that have brought her as many aspiring photographer fans as she has photography clients. I’m convinced that if Audrey writes about a product on her blog, or uses a hat, blanket (remember that?) etc in her work, then you ought to buy some stock in it~ her cult following is that strong. :) Her work has been featured in many places, including the cover of Professional Photography magazine and is the inspiration for many photographers who are just starting out. If you haven’t checked out her blog before, I know you’ll enjoy it.

On a personal note, please forgive my neglecting Blogs of Photogs. Its crunch time for finishing up all my client work. I hope to share a freebie card I designed within the next day or so, hopefully you can use it for last minute orders, or maybe even for your own neglected card! Happy Holidays to all!

#158…Skeisvoll Photography

Friday, November 20th, 2009

I usually try to limit my posts and review to those photographers who have blogs, as the name is “Blogs of Photogs” but after coming across Skeisvoll Photography, I just *had* to share their site with you. Monica & Erik’s portfolios are so jam packed with awesome commercial and fashion work~ I know everyone will enjoy seeing their website. ~Enjoy!

#153…Grant + Deb

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Grant & Deb Perry of Virginia (Hampton Roads and surrounding area) specialize primarily in gorgeous lush wedding coverage, but their senior work, families and traditional portrait work is also superb. I really enjoyed their blog and site, which are both beautifully designed and also very informative for clients without being too wordy. Enjoy!

#150…David Quisenberry

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

As most high school senior photographers already know, it is prime time for getting the class of 2010 done! Many seniors just start to think about senior photos as “back to school” rolls around, but many others planned ahead and already have booked or completed their session. I’ve been looking for some awesome photographers to feature that specialize in senior photos, and one of my absolute favorites is David Quisenberry. He does a stunning job in studio with studio lighting, amazing with natural lighting and on location outside the studio, and what is most laudable is David’s ability to have truly unique images of each senior! The sneak peeks on his blog showcase such a wide range of styles, personalities, poses and backgrounds- great for his clients and also amazing inspiration for my Blogs of Photogs readers! David is also extremely talented in working with other ages, but I wanted to especially feature his senior/grad work! He works out of the McKinney, TX and the greater Dallas Metroplex area. Enjoy!

#139…Jerry Yoon

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Jerry Yoon Phototography consists of Jerry & Ingrid who photograph amazing weddings out of the San Francisco Bay area as well as many destination weddings, and Aubrey & Blake their newish associate photographers. The artistry in their work is amazing and their polished and inspiring take on new shots/angles/compositions is really terrific. I found myself looking way back in their blog, all the way to September of ‘08  (here) where I just loved this engagement session sneak peek. Such a great slice of life and so FUN! :) Definitely one of the more inspiring wedding blogs out there for me.

Enjoy!

#125…Pin Me Up Glamour Boudoir Photography

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Pin Me Up Glamour & Boudoir Photography, owned by Marilyn of South Florida, does sexy, gorgeous & tasteful boudoir photography. The blog has lovely, artful images. If you are offended by some mildly suggestive implied nudity, I’d skip this one~ I however found the images to be beautifully done, very aesthetically pleasing and celebratory of the beauty of the human body. I think this type of photography takes such a special eye, to not cross the line between glamor and being too risqué, Pin Me Up does a fab job! Make sure you check out her “Top Ten” reasons for a shoot here, love the idea of celebrating yourself! :)

Enjoy!

#122…Michelle Miller

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Michelle Miller, of the Chicago area, has great stuff on her blog. She specializes in newborns and high school seniors, (with some childrens work thrown in for good measure). Michelle excels at photography in both ends of the spectrum, with lovely classic and beautiful black and white images of babies, and very fashion forward polished senior work. I was particularly fond of the post on her blog addressing the comment area we photographers cringe at: the old “what kind of camera do you have, it takes great pictures” conversation. Michelle does a lovely job of explaining what goes into setting up a shot, looking for the light, capturing it, post production and editing, etc. A must read for all photographers. Maybe Michelle will inspire you to write your own version for your own blog!

Anyway, Michelle has stunning work for you to savor on her blog and her site. Enjoy!

#119…Anastasia Chomlack

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Looking over Anastasia’s blog, and her site, I get the feeling that she is more than one person. Her multiple genres of portraiture work each have a very different feel. Her work with families has a gritty, familiar real-life beauty that I love, while her wedding work often has a 70’s vintage feel with an entirely different intimacy than the family stuff–and then her commercial work for clothing lines has a crisp, clean… well “commercial” feel to it for lack of a better word. Anastasia works out of Whistler, BC, and she has an amazing body of work to appreciate on her blog posts and website, make sure you view her family galleries on her site- some of my faves ( here ). ~Enjoy!

ETA: Just wanted to say I’ve found out since posting this review that Anastasia works with hubby Chad on some wedding work: which does not make my review any less glowing or fabulous of her work! Even within her straight portrait work I see such an amazing depth and breadth of vision… I didn’t mean my split personality comment to be a negative in the least. Her work, and that of her husband, are both gorgeous and amazing. :) Hope that ’splains what I meant!

#117…Jason Groupp

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

I love the polished and elegant look of Jason’s photography and I have to say, his flosite blog just suits it to a “T”. His wedding work is divine, and I am in awe of his glamorous and graceful portraiture of both the shockingly gorgeous couples he photographs, as well as the more “typical in appearance” wedding and engagement pairs. His work with off camera flash is amazing. I know my readers will love his work, Jason Groupp works out of NYC and on location.

Enjoy!

#111…Angela Crutcher

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

Be warned: You will need to look through Angela Crutcher’s blog, finding the art in life, multiple times. First look, you’ll just enjoy the lovely images, the great connections with the children, fun posing with the newborns, gorgeous color and spot on exposure. Second look, you can wonder how all her subjects are so amazingly attractive. Third look? That is for drooling over all of the to die for clothing owned by her clients. Seriously: its is just not fair! Angela works out of Nashville Tennesee.

Enjoy!
