#142…Sarah Gardan Photography

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Sarah is a transplanted Australian, living in Paris,  who has the most beautiful fresh photography! I’ve got hundreds of blogs on my lists to check out, but when I peeked at Sarah’s, I  had to bump it right up. Two things come through immediately for me: her talent at capturing beauty with a clarity I always love, and her passion for her work. Her front page post about Gratitude, featuring five things she loves, is really enjoyable to read. I find myself so much more drawn to photo blogs that feature a healthy dollop of who the photographer is~ it creates that connection that further enhances my enjoyment of gorgeous photography. I must also admit it is nice to see some European clothes for kids ~ so fun!

Sarah works, as mentioned, primarily out of Paris, but also travels for sessions in Europe and beyond. Hope you enjoy Sarah’s work too!

#138…E.Tyler Photography

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

Erin, of E. Tyler Photography in Fort Collins, CO, has beautiful portrait work on her blog/site, (here). After looking nearly everyday at dozens of  portrait blogs, I really loved seeing her work shooting theatre productions. Her work is just amazing, and I especially loved the Paragon bus stop shots… make sure you check them out. Erin also has a great headshot FAQ that I may ask her if I can adapt and borrow from! :) Would save me tons of Q&A time via email.

~Enjoy!

#136…Bernadette Uzcategui Photography

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Bernadette Uzcategui Photography, or BUphotography, is one of those amazingly-talented-at everything photographers. She is as skilled with pets as she is with children, rocks with headshots and commercial photography and does a lovely job with maternity. Her blog is a wonderful blending of all of the above and more, with lots of great inspiration for my readers to browse through. BUP is based out of Philadelphia, Main Line & Manhattan and surrounding areas. ~Enjoy!

#133…Peter Hurley

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

Something a little different today… Peter Hurley is an extremely talented commercial photographer who has studios in both NY and LA. He also has several affliate photographers working for him, and a peek through his portfolio will show you how accomplished he is. However, today I’m linking to his awesome video about “how to get a great headshot” (shot by sceneinteractive.com,) find the video here. This video is geared towards actors who are looking for the perfect headshot, but I think all photographers would also benefit from the info too~ always great to hear/see another photographer’s working style. Enjoy!

#125…Pin Me Up Glamour Boudoir Photography

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Pin Me Up Glamour & Boudoir Photography, owned by Marilyn of South Florida, does sexy, gorgeous & tasteful boudoir photography. The blog has lovely, artful images. If you are offended by some mildly suggestive implied nudity, I’d skip this one~ I however found the images to be beautifully done, very aesthetically pleasing and celebratory of the beauty of the human body. I think this type of photography takes such a special eye, to not cross the line between glamor and being too risqué, Pin Me Up does a fab job! Make sure you check out her “Top Ten” reasons for a shoot here, love the idea of celebrating yourself! :)

Enjoy!

#119…Anastasia Chomlack

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Looking over Anastasia’s blog, and her site, I get the feeling that she is more than one person. Her multiple genres of portraiture work each have a very different feel. Her work with families has a gritty, familiar real-life beauty that I love, while her wedding work often has a 70’s vintage feel with an entirely different intimacy than the family stuff–and then her commercial work for clothing lines has a crisp, clean… well “commercial” feel to it for lack of a better word. Anastasia works out of Whistler, BC, and she has an amazing body of work to appreciate on her blog posts and website, make sure you view her family galleries on her site- some of my faves ( here ). ~Enjoy!

ETA: Just wanted to say I’ve found out since posting this review that Anastasia works with hubby Chad on some wedding work: which does not make my review any less glowing or fabulous of her work! Even within her straight portrait work I see such an amazing depth and breadth of vision… I didn’t mean my split personality comment to be a negative in the least. Her work, and that of her husband, are both gorgeous and amazing. :) Hope that ’splains what I meant!

#116…Tara Clark Photography

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

I have a list of over 200 blogs (probably more) that have been sent as suggestions for reviews. Some were sent by the photographer, some I find on my own, some are recommended by clients, some by other photographers and some just sent in by readers who enjoy photography blogs. I try to go through them roughly in order, but forgive me for bumping this one to the top. I got Tara’s blog in my inbox just a few weeks ago but I adore her work and I really like what she has done with her blogspot blog. Her work is truly excellent, nice range of subjects, emotions, colors and black & white. Tara works out of Seattle, where she has tons of great locations staked out, especially love those urban family shoots, and even her headshots rock! You will find lots to enjoy here, an abundance of vibrant, rich and beautiful images. Enjoy!
