#114…Kabloom Studios

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

I was a little bit bummed that Kabloom’s header didn’t have any photos in it, but loved the idea of using it right off the bat as an update that she is booked for the year. :) Anyway, check out Khara from Nebraska over at her blog: Kabloom studio blog, and enjoy the bright and sumptuous colors, styles and the huge variety of session types that are showcased. Her work is such fun!

I hope all my readers will sympathize with me during crunch time of the holiday season, and forgive my less frequent posting. Have a wonderful holiday season and make sure to take some time to enjoy your own family!

best,

Mary

ps: Khara just emailed me that she switched back to her normal one, which is here: ;)

#113…Tara Staton

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

I really hate to start out a review with a negative, but I have to warn you before you visit Tara’s blog… she has one of those “playlist” things hidden at the bottom of her blog as a widget. Now; I’m a huge lover of music, in fact, I listen all the time~which is why when I come across a blog with music, without a clear easy way to turn it off, mute it, or pause it…I usually close that window and get the heck out of Dodge. (Tara’s blog music can be paused way down at the bottom, which took me a while to find, and after switching pages the pause button disappeared until I refreshed~ but I stayed to see the gorgeous lush work anyway, thank goodness!) Let me just say that visiting Tara’s blog while listening to my music (Lupe Fiasco’s Superstar) mixed with her blog music (Michelle Featherstone’s Sweet Sweet Baby) did not make a pleasant mix in the least! So-to Tara & others with similar music players: please reconsider an easier pause button? Just for little ‘ol me?  :)

Ok: now onto the photos! Tara’s work is really magnificent! Her family sessions are some of the best family work that I have seen in a long time. I’ll definitely be bookmarking her blog for inspiration. Tara works along the North Oregon Coast, and though I don’t know what their cost of living is like there, her rates seem extremely underpriced for the caliber of her work, which is splendid. There is much to enjoy & admire on her blog and site, so go take a peek and enjoy!

#106…Whitebox

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Ok, I know its been a few days too long since I blogged. My apologies. I had a bunch of sessions, a bunch of orders, plus a huge fundraiser (auction) for my kids school that I’d been helping plan for the last year. Suffice it to say that I’m officially too busy. I bet I’m the only one, riiiiighhhht?

Anyway, it will have all been worth the wait when you go check out my new current favorite photographers: Whitebox-Sara & Mel. You can see their amazing work here on their blog, or here for weddings or here for kids. Wow. Just stupendous. They describe themselves as fresh, vibrant and lovely, and they are SO right. Everything works, they simply rock at what they do. I have never seen their work before tonight and I am just excited about it! They work out of Greensboro, NC and travel too. Enjoy!

#105…Mandy Carroll

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Mandy Carroll works out of Virgina, around Charlottesville & Richmond, and her work has a lovely light airyness to it that I just adore. Her black and white conversions are especially exquisite, some of the better I’ve seen lately.

This blog is a newer blog for Mandy, from switching over from her blogspot one fairly recently, so there are only two pages of posts. (As an aside to Mandy, and any other Wordpress converts, it is super easy to import all your old posts from other sites into your new WP, email me if you need help!) so be sure to check out her older work as well, great stuff there too.

Enjoy!
