Matt Silk, a commercial photographer based in South Carolina, has such an amazing body of work- I know all of my readers will appreciate his images. He incorporates quite a bit of HDR photography, which often prompts me to yawn and say “so what?” -as it is usually done so poorly. But, Matt is masterful with his use of it, to bring new depth, shading and light into his work and direct the viewers eye throughout the image. Paul Bartholomew is an accomplished architectural and still life photographer, working out of the Philadelphia area, as well as in New York and New Jersey with occasional other travel. His blog (here) and website (here) are brimming with sumptuous images of food, interior design spaces, buildings and outdoor spaces: all flawlessly lighted and captured with masterful detail. Adam Jacobs Photography is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where specializes in sports photography. Adam makes amazing panoramic images of sports stadiums, (here) with the occasional use of selective coloring in perhaps the only worthwhile way I’ve seen. Adam also has a section on action sports photography, with some great captures and a fine art section featuring people, landscapes and more. You can read his blog here, which I really enjoyed for both the writing and the images. ~Enjoy!

Lynn, along with her team of Vivian and Nancy, provide exceptionally polished wedding photography services that manages to capture both the gaiety and the grandeur of each wedding. I love blogs where the writer really lets their personality shine through in their comments, this is one where it is clear what fun Lynn & crew have with their jobs, and also makes me think they’d be a lot of fun to hang out with and have a beer with too! They have all sorts of accolades on their sites, from best wedding photogs multiple years from The Knot, to other nifty features in print and online; so they don’t need me to tell them they rock at what they do~ but I’ll say it anyway; they rock. Seshu Photography (blog here ) is based in Connecticut, New England, but Seshu travels extensively to capture lushly gorgeous wedding, engagement and portrait images that are a flawless mix of candid in-the-moment captures fused with beautifully posed images. Seshu was born in NY, but lived in India for 12 years before returning to the US. As he mentions in his bio, he straddles multiple cultures and comfortably immerses himself into their prized traditions. I know you will enjoy his work if you haven’t yet heard of Seshu. Make sure you follow him on twitter too, as he has lots to say and lots of great advice.

Darling Art Photography by Rebecca Mudrick and Dena Robles is located in Chapel Hill, NC and they are also available for travel. Darling Art photographs primarily children (aka, little darlings! cute, huh?) which I love, as I’ve seen so many photographers try to cover every age group when it is not their passion, and it shows. But~Darling Art sticks to children, and their work is masterful. The black and whites on the blog {here} have that lovely luminescent quality that I love, their color work is rich and luscious, and the expressions on their little subjects just epitomize joy. Enjoy the blog, and please accept my apologies for my long delay in posting. My cousin has been critically ill in the ICU with H1N1 complications for 13 days, and I’ve had trouble with staying focused on my photography, let alone finding time for blogs of photogs. Please keep him in your prayers, it is a very scary time for our family. Be well~

Bob Smith of No Traces has one of the largest online portfolio’s of amazing work that I’ve reviewed on Blogs of Photogs. Where to start… well you can go to his photoblog to view a singular image with a quote or lyrics or small writing, or read his blog to catch up on his thoughts, or view his flickr stream (my faves are in his “one’s I like” stream here…)

Bob’s passion for photography & life and his artistry and documentary style were just a wonderful place for me to get lost in. So, get a big cup of coffee and sit down and be entralled.

James Nachtwey doesn’t have a blog, just a simple website filled with powerful, moving, disturbing and important images. James has worked as a photographer for decades– documenting wars, conflicts and critical social issues. According to his website, he has worked on extensive photographic essays in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Lebanon, the West Bank and Gaza, Israel, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, the Philippines, South Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Rwanda, South Africa, Russia, Bosnia, Chechnya, Kosovo, Romania, Brazil and the United States.

I cannot personally fathom how it would affect your spirit to have been a firsthand witness to capture all these haunting images, but I am so grateful for James, and photographers like him, who document and report on these crucial events and occurrences. I hope his photography moves you as it did me.

Jerry Yoon Phototography consists of Jerry & Ingrid who photograph amazing weddings out of the San Francisco Bay area as well as many destination weddings, and Aubrey & Blake their newish associate photographers. The artistry in their work is amazing and their polished and inspiring take on new shots/angles/compositions is really terrific. I found myself looking way back in their blog, all the way to September of ’08 (here) where I just loved this engagement session sneak peek. Such a great slice of life and so FUN! Definitely one of the more inspiring wedding blogs out there for me.

Kene doesn’t have a blog, so I’m straying from my usual practice of featuring blogs, but his site has several sections where you can enjoy the cinematic artistry of his work~ from his portfolio, to his present moment section featuring weddings of 2008, to his slideshows and book samples.
