Angela Weedon is based out of Dallas, TX, where she works with her husband Matt alongside her-helping with the business side and “toddler wrangling” as she calls it. Her work is amazing, and from viewing her site and her blog, I get such a sense of talent, and a textbook view of what a well established & grounded upscale photography business should look like.

I will try to keep this mini-rant small, but seeing how well Angela & her team work together is so evident from her online presence–it makes it all the more clear to me that the thousands of new “shoot & burn” photographers cropping up are really hurting customers. You won’t get service and quality from them like you will from a class act like Weedon Photography. It makes me wish there were some kind of guidelines to calling yourself a photographer. A license or something… because clients are getting burned, and it is hurting the name of good photographers all over the country.

Angela’s images are stunning, from studio to outdoors, newborn to families; lovely b&w images, beautiful color-I can’t see anything she can’t do. Really enjoyed her work and site and blog. Hope you will to~

Todd Laffler works out of Scotch Plains, NJ, but travels as well. He primarily shoots weddings, but also some portrait work and children, etc. To say that his blog and site showcase an extraordinary talent would be an understatement. I’ve mentioned it before (some might say ad nauseum…) but I look at a lot of photo blogs. A lot.

There are some blogs that grab me right away, making me go through pages and pages and my kids get bagels for dinner. Again. Yup, this is one of those. His artistry, finesse and personality are all intertwined within his photographs in a distinctive way that makes me think we will be hearing about Todd more in the future. Hope you enjoy too….

Angela Calderon is someone I have “known” online for about 3-4 years. Angela’s personality and her photos are so bubbly, colorful and polychromatic that she would cheer up any dark cloudy day! The thing I’ve always loved about her work is it looks like she is just having so much fun when she is shooting, and that lightheartedness comes through loud and clear in her connections with her subjects. Too bad she lives on the other side of the country from me (I’m in Minneapolis, MN–she is in Los Angeles, CA…) as I’m sure we would be fast friends and have a blast together. Angela’s blog is worth checking out–you will love her chatty conversational tone as well as the great photos it showcases. Her main site is here.

There is a lot to see on this lovely blog: Nichol Krupp. Great words, great photos (love the twins!) and she seems like a great woman. I got a little lost reading through it all, and enjoyed myself immensely! (And that doesn’t happen often, I’m a good skim-reader! LOL)

Adore the quote she posted from Marianne Williamson, on March 30 (scroll a little) ~so true and so poignant. Also, a bit below that, a wonderful read by Niki on “Art & Accidents”…. I bet if you emailed her and asked really really nice, she would be willing to allow you to share her fab insights with your own clients… Whaddya say Niki? I know you are going to love the modern crisp look and photos on Char’s blog: Wink Photo.  I added her to my list of blogs to check out months ago, and finally got to her today and am so glad I did! She has an especially lovely way with lighting the small ones she photographs, and since I’ve got another baby session myself tomorrow~  her blog is a great inspiration! I’m sure my readers will agree. She works in and around Fairfield County, CT, and you can find her main portrait site here. 

I’d advise getting a cup of coffee and setting aside a little chunk of time for viewing the work from my next post ~National Geographic’s Photo Camp.

Ok, I’m finally back. I really try to post every few days or so, but got behind with proofing sessions, and then when my brother had a medical emergency and ended up in the hospital, that kind of sapped my energy with worrying. Thanks for your patience, I am back!

Been busy and a family emergency, my brother is in the hospital, emergency surgery, etc. Keep him in your prayers if you could. Hope to post a new blog soon. Thanks for good thoughts and patience.

I don’t know if she has a lot of help or if she is just insanely all over the place in her town of Springfield, IL, but reading her blog and her site make me *tired*!!! Looks like a lot of fun though… from the seniors in her custom “image is everything” t-shirts to the American Girl photo shoots. Lots of good work to read about and see… enjoy!
