#51…Kristin Eldridge

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Ok, I’m finally back. I really try to post every few days or so, but got behind with proofing sessions, and then when my brother had a medical emergency and ended up in the hospital, that kind of sapped my energy with worrying. Thanks for your patience, I am back!

And here is a lovely blog for you to enjoy: Kristin Eldridge in San Francisco. Love her blog header and logo, her clean fresh photography, beautiful! Make sure you look back a bit in her blog, past just the front page. She has some really lovely work to enjoy, and her site has some really splendid photography work on it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did~! And thanks for all the nice emails and comments about my brother. He is improving and hopefully will be going home from the hospital next week.
thanks
Mary

Been busy and a family emergency, my brother is in the hospital, emergency surgery, etc. Keep him in your prayers if you could. Hope to post a new blog soon. Thanks for good thoughts and patience.

#50…Kimberly Smoot

Friday, March 21st, 2008

Up next is Kimberly Smoot photography! I don’t know if she has a lot of help or if she is just insanely all over the place in her town of Springfield, IL, but reading her blog and her site make me *tired*!!! Looks like a lot of fun though… from the seniors in her custom “image is everything” t-shirts to the American Girl photo shoots. :) Lots of good work to read about and see… enjoy!

#49…Tara Whitney

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Up today is Tara Whitney’s Blog. (edited to add: I had the link typed wrong, so please refresh if you are getting to a blogspot wrong page. Tara’s blog is www.tarawhitney.typepad.com thanks for the catch melanie!) Tara lives down in sunny and beautiful Orange County, CA. I enjoyed her outdoor photos tremendously, as we are still stuck in suspended winter here in MN (see my blog for a snow photo from yesterday if you like…) Tara’s main website appears to be undergoing a facelift or some work at the moment, but I expect it will be back up soon, and you can see it here.
The photos on Tara’s blog exhibit an exuberance and sparkle that I really admire. I am particularly drawn to her family shoots. They have a relaxed and comfortable quality that I see so many photographers strive for and miss. Its a true talent to make a family feel at ease and laid-back while you are also working to get great photos. I have a feeling that Tara is as un-pretentious as she appears in her blog, photos of her, and her writings. Hope you enjoy her work too.

#48…Kim McCormick

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

Ok, at the moment (early Saturday morning) Kim McCormick is my favorite person. Her blog was submitted recently, and I finally (thankfully, gratefully!) read it this morning. First thing I liked was the couple of shots of marvelous macro work at the top of her blog. Beautiful!
But then, I scrolled down to read her Cats & Dogs post, and my husband and I were both in tears we laughed so hard. Now I realize she did not write the Diary she shared, but for sharing it alone, she is my favorite person. Thanks Kim, I really needed that! :) Truly one of the funniest things I have ever read, and if you find out the writer, please let me know so I can share their name!
Ok, so–once you wipe the tears of laughter from your eyes, make sure you move on down to take a peek at her photography. Love the birthday party shots too. I also love the live feed of who visits the blog. I am stealing that widget idea! ;)
I will say (I know its the slower season..) it would be lovely to see Kim update her blog more frequently. And yes, I know I am the pot calling the kettle black, as I have been woefully lax on my own photo blog. ;) Anyway, Kim works out of Brevard County, Florida and you can find her main site here.
~Enjoy!

#47…David Pascolla

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

David photos are sparkling and effervescent… just full of such fun! The color images are some of the best I’ve seen (not over done, just bright and bubbly!) and he has several different b&w conversions that really show lots of different moods.  Love his wide angle fish eye shots too, and love the most recent posts on the blog with the larger images with the black frame, they showcase his work beautifully!

You will really enjoy his blog and his site. He works out of San Luis Obispo, California.

#46…Connor’s blog: Confessions of a Toddler Terror

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Ok, normally I try to go through blog submissions in the order I received them (and lets note that I have enough for about 200+ days now, but keep ‘em coming!)

However, got this one in my gmail this morning as a suggestion… too original and funny not to bump to the top! Connor’s dad, Jason Angelini, is a photographer (wedding & portrait, out of Florida) and the blog is written from his perspective, that of a todder terror! I highly recommend going back through the archives and reading some of the past posts, they are quite funny and refreshing. Enjoy!

#45…The Storyteller Blog: Charles Bordner

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Sometimes I can’t even recall how I stumbled upon a blog. Some are sent to me as recommendations to review by fans of the blog, some are self-submitted {which, by the way, I think is awesome, so don’t feel bad if you do that, I love it! Self-promotion in this biz is crucial!! Send me presents and I’ll guarantee you a post, lol. ;) }

Anyway, that said, I have no idea where I found this blog… just found it in my favorites from who knows when. Probably saved it one morning at 4:30 when I was proofing bleary-eyed, right? :)
So: here it is, Charles Bordner, aka, The Storyteller.
Amazing, extraordinary work. What artistry….
Really.
Love the blog design as well as the photography, just all around top-notch.
Enjoy!
Blog is here and site is here.
