#71…daily dose of imagery by Sam Javanrouh

Sam Javanrouh's image for review

Even though most of my readers are portrait or wedding photographers, I think this site will be an incredibly inspiring find for so many of you. If you ever find yourself stuck in a rut, hop over to The Daily Dose of Imagery for some serious out of the box inspiration. I think Sam’s work (especially his “planet” shots) is visionary in his ability to create these images that he can see in his head and dismantle to pieces that he constructs with his camera, and then reassemble to form his quixotic images in post processing. I really enjoy his work, and hope you will too!

#70….the [b]ecker

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

[b]ecker is one of my favorite wedding photographers….he just seems like he has so much fun and spreads that excitement no matter what he is doing. Along with being a terrifically talented photographer, he is also a master at branding and marketing and I heard from several of my online buddies that meeting him at wppi was a blast. He works out of Orange County, CA, and you can find his main site here.

I know you will love his blog and his photos and style!

Pioneer Woman Blog

Ok, all of you who have emailed me encouraging me to feature the Pioneer Woman, here she is so you can sit back, smile and stop asking!! :) I have never gotten so many emails about *one* blog. I haven’t read her blog in so long, used to check it out regularly a long time ago, but its gotten even better. Witty, smart, funny, beautiful photography, recipes, you name it. I won’t even go on, but know that I could. Get your coffee, and head on over. This is one to add to your feedburner for sure. :)

#68…Trista Blouin

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Trista Blouin of “Look Who Just Blouin Photography” is an amazingly sweet person, and a wonderfully talented photographer who works out of Pensacola, FL along the beaches from Destin to Gulf Shores, and works out of Atlanta for part of each month as well. Trista also travels to various parts of the US throughout the year on assignment, last year she went to Maine, North Carolina, and New York City. This year she is already booked for Memphis and New York.

I had the good fortune to get to know Trista many years ago when she lived near me in Minnesota, and I have to tell you, her clients in Florida are terrifically lucky she relocated down there! In addition to being an extremely accomplished photographer, she is also an amazing business woman with fabulous marketing skills, and I’ve learned a lot from her over the years. I know you will love her blog and her site!

#67…pink sugar photography

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Lots of things I like about pink sugar photography blog; great photography skills, intriguing post processing with lots of yummy textures and conversions, good posing and fun ideas especially for couples, and really delightful wedding images. Andrea clearly has a good time with her clients and appears to excel at making people comfortable in front of the camera. Her site(s) are really lighthearted too… love how she has it separated out between love (weddings) and life (family, kids, etc).

{Now if only she had royalty free music…seems like no one does anymore…or maybe everyone knows how to get permission for all these fab songs, except me? ;) }

ETA: No offense intended above, I’ve been informed that all her music is used with permission, so its my bad! My apologies!

#66…Kelli Nicole

kelli nicole blog

I’ve been MIA for a few days now. We had a nasty cold (or flu?) virus run through our house, then busy with catch up on my own sessions, orders and deliveries. I’m back though, and have a great blog for you to visit! Kelli Nicole Photography seems to get all over the country world. She has photos on the front page of her blog from Seattle, San Francisco, an orphanage in Ghana and London. Very impressive travel log, and fab photos to boot. Keep going back beyond the first page though, as there are lots more amazing photos to enjoy. I do wish blogger would let you upload larger photos, as now that I’ve gotten used to wordpress blogs with larger photos I am spoiled! It showcases images SO much better. :)

#65…Fotochick (angela hubbard)

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Here is a fun blog that has a great variety from Angela’s various specialties. Great engagement shots that are fun and fresh; also genuinely enjoyed the Cuba photos… amazing. From her splash page you can view her baby work, her wedding work, and her ultra fun site that made me SO amazingly jealous: rock’n roll & celeb photography. How much FUN has she had??

#64…Charmi Peña

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

The blog of Charmi Peña was recently sent to me by an online friend of mine. I had never heard of her, but after peeking at her blog and her site, I bumped her to the top of my very long list of blogs to review! Several things I’m liking: her use of texture overlays really enhance her photos, love the huge variety of ethnicities in her clientele, and even though her business appears to be a bit on the new side, such an interesting mix of photos and you can tell she has a great eye.

#63…Myla Kent

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

The blog of Myla Kent features a enchanting mix of quotes, snippets of writings and poetry, paired with purely exquiste images with an undeniable documentary style. I know so many photographers say they are “photojournalistic style” or “documentary style”, (often a code word for “I don’t know how to pose”–right KC? LOL) but much if Myla’s work is what I consider documentary style. Whether it is people on the street, or photos around her hometown near Seattle, WA, the images are lovely, classic and full of interest throughout. I know you will enjoy her work…
